Decomposed granite, in a crushed stone form, is used as a pavement building material. It is used on driveways, garden walkways, bocce courts and petanque terrains, and municipal urban park and natural regional and national park ‘sidewalks’ and heavy-use paths. It can be installed and compacted to meet handicapped accessibility specifications and criteria, such as the ADA standards in the U.S. Different colors, in natural ranges depending on quarry source, and polymeric stabilizer add-mixtures are available.

    • Hi Vanessa,
At 3 inches you will need 6.5 yards of crushed granite. We have a material calculator on the website if you need any further calculations. You can also call us if you have any questions.

    • Hi Lisa,
It depends how deep you want to go. We have a handy calculator on the bottom of our front page or in the sidebar of other pages to help with your calculations. If you have any trouble or questions, give us a call and we will be happy to help.

      Thanks,
      Rock N Dirt Yard

    • Hi Kim,
Great question. Yes they are. There are different sizes as far as how fine decomposed granite will be. We sell decomposed granite sand which is the finest and we also sell 1/2 inch decomposed granite which is more coarse. We are making a video to show the difference and so maybe that will be of value you to you to show the difference.

Thanks a bunch and give us a call if you have any questions.

    • Hi Ed,
It sort of comes down to preference, but if your dog is a digger, it is better to go with the pea gravel. Both will work well for your dog though. Give us a call if you need any more guidance with your yard.

      Thanks!

    • Hi Jeb,
